Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Spears was born in McComb,
Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood. Britney was a dancer as a child and was a
winner of numerous competitions in gymnastics. Britney loves to sing and, more
importantly, she was in love with dancing classes. Britney applied for The All
New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) at age eight. She was rejected due to her young
age. It led her to an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", for two
years as the lead character. At age 11 she tried again for The All New Mickey
Mouse Club (1989) and was this time able to make her debut as a mouseketeer,
alongside numerous stars of today (Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez of *NSYNC , and
Ryan Gosling). Her big break, however, came after she was signed Jive Recording
Artist in the latter part of the 90s. Britney was a huge success after her
first album, "Baby one more time." "...Baby another time"
in 1999. She sold 13 million copies (as of July 2001), of her second album
"Oops !...I did it Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was
born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and has a huge sister named Jamie Lynn
Spears. Britney was bound to become an upcoming star at a young age. Britney
loved singing and was inspired by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Britney
auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) at the age of was
eight. However she was too old to be accepted. Britney relocated to New York
with her mother and infant sibling. She was a part of numerous TV
advertisements as well as being an understudy for Natalie Portman in
"Ruthless" off-Broadway. Her passion for dance and music grew and,
two years after, she auditioned for an appearance on "Mickey Mouse"
again, and this time, won the part with Christina Aguilera and Justin
Timberlake.
